Distribution Day – Feb. 2 (Tuesday, 2:00-2:45)
This Monday is our Distribution Day. You will receive all the materials your child needs until the next Distribution Day. Try to keep materials in bags, folders, etc so students can find them when we ask to pull them out.
TIME CHANGE: Our new time is 2:00pm – 2:45pm

- Scholastic News: 4 mini magazine articles folded into each other (1 per week)
- New Reading Logs
- New Blue Sight Words
- Returned Journals with comments and goals.
- Book Bags with new independent reading books (reread books 3 or more times)
- ART Bag with materials for weekly art projects.
- Valentine Bag: with materials for 2/11/21 (DO NOT OPEN until 2/11)
- 100 Days of School Bag – Directions on what to leave and what to open are inside.

Please note the change in pick up time as there are only 45 minutes in our pick up window.
Get Epic
This past week during our Tech Time, Ms. Martin led us onto Get Epic. You will love it! Its another place for your child to independently hear reading or read at their level.
Check it out! The kids tried it out on Thursday and some of you were able to see the options! This can be a great option to also let your kids hear stories without you having to read to them every time! You can access this from the Clever Portal. The code needed is listed in Clever Portal by the app name (code only needs to be put in one time).
Yearbook Pictures
Our awesome school has found a safe way to get student portraits for our yearbook. Please see the email sent this past week with sign up slots to get your child’s picture taken in February.
Fine Artists
This week, Shannon Tamayo taught the kids their next Fine Artist Lesson. The kids learned how to draw an insect with detail and choose different coloring and drawing details to accent it. They did awesome!
Special thanks to Shannon for attending the training, and taking the time to teach the kids and send out the follow up email with links to upload your child’s art work.
Asynchronous Work for February 1 – 5th
As we have worked a schedule to limit student online time, try to get practice on these platforms for student practice.
- Math – ST Math
- Independent Reading – RAZ Kids or Book Bag
- Seesaw – Assigned within Seesaw
- WRITING (NEW) – Submit one piece of INDEPENDENT writing each week on Seesaw (done with paper and pencil/crayons). Please have your child use the camera feature to submit a picture of their writing. Then have them use the microphone feature to record their writing and submit with the green check.
- If your child is NOT writing sentences, have them label a picture (with their own spelling or letter label for each item) and submit a photo and recording of it.
- If your child is writing sentences, they can write a Beginning/Middle/End story about myself OR write a letter to Mrs. Miller asking me and telling me anything they would like. They may include a picture and must submit a photo of the writing and recording of them reading it.
