Cleared?
Just a reminder to make sure you get cleared. I know the fingerprint process can take awhile since the district has to process it. We will need enough car seat spaces in order to make it to any field trips in the spring. Just a reminder…”C” clearance will allow you to come in the classroom for all school events. If you get “D” clearance you will be able to join us on any field trip.
I know this process is a lot of time and effort so thank you in advance. Our school follows the district code strictly to keep our kids safe which is much appreciated. Thank you! If you want to get cleared, stop by our nurse’s office and speak to our nurse/pick up the required forms.
We Have Heart
This week we were collecting food bags all week long! We collected more each day. Teachers gave bags and past students of mine also participated in the giving along with some friends of mine. In the end we ended up collecting: 149 meal bags to send down to families in Tijuana, Mexico! Thank you for your generosity this season!
We had an amazing day spending time with this wonderful community! They got to decorate cookies, play games, do a directed drawing and each child up to 18 years old got a gift! The topper on the cake was the contributions of food. Since all the kids get to participate in all the activities, the adults (who love being there) essentially watch their kids get all these gifts and activities. In the end, the adults are going home empty-handed. This year…the adults were able to take home the meal bags as their own gifts! They were very grateful…the day was fully of smiles! Thank you again!
2-sided Volunteer Calendar
This upcoming week, the January Volunteer Calendar is coming out! I’m bringing back a great activity that I used to do when I would send home a weekly reading log instead of just getting a log every time you finish one. This is character building. It is completely optional and may look different each month or the same, but will focus on a different character traits we strive to strengthen in ourselves. If you choose to participate, send back your paper/calendar at the end of January and share your child’s efforts!
Western Family BBQ
Wednesday afternoon was our Winter Family BBQ. Many families came out to enjoy lunch with their kiddos! Thank you for making the hike over to EBS as I know some parents come from work. What a fun day!
